1. Introduction
Tech for Good Advisory (Pty) Ltd, trading as Tech for Good Advisory SA, carries on the business of nonprofit technology advisory and enablement services in South Africa, including nonprofit software-benefit applications, professional email and collaboration setup, AI-assisted productivity solutions, website and hosting support, and the supply, rental and support of computer hardware and accessories. This manual explains how to request access to records we hold, in line with PAIA.

3. The PAIA Act and the Section 10 Guide
PAIA gives a requester the right to access records held by a private body such as ours, where the record is required for the exercise or protection of a right. Requests must follow the procedures prescribed by the Act. Requesters may also refer to the Guide on how to use PAIA, compiled by the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) in terms of Section 10 of the Act, available from the SAHRC:

6. How to make a request
To help us process your request efficiently, please:
- Use the prescribed PAIA request form, available from the SAHRC website at www.sahrc.org.za;
- Address your request to our Information Officer using the contact details in Section 2;
- Provide enough detail for us to identify the record(s) requested, your identity (and proof of authority if requesting on behalf of someone else), your contact details, and the format of access you require;
- Explain the right you are seeking to exercise or protect, and why the requested record is required for that purpose.
7. Prescribed fees
For requests other than requests for your own personal information, the following generally applies:
- A prescribed request fee is payable before a request will be processed;
- Where preparing the record requires more than the prescribed search and preparation time, a deposit of up to one-third of the access fee may be required before the request is processed;
- Records may be withheld until applicable fees have been paid;
- A requester may approach a court regarding the imposition of a fee or deposit.
